Pruning Workshop with Full Circus Farm

$50.00

Saturday, April 12th from 10:30-11:30am

Join farmer and nursery grower, Mark Stonehill, from Full Circus Farm to learn the art of pruning perennials, both young and old. Learn when to prune which types of trees, how to know when you've removed enough, and how to prune in a way that maximizes blossoms and fruit. We'll also talk about tools that can make the job easier. Bring your own pair of hand pruners, if you have them!

$50 per person

About Full Circus Farm: Mark Stonehill and Miriam Goler started Full Circus Farm in Pine Plains in 2014. After meeting in high school and later apprenticing at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett and two different draft animal-powered farms in coastal Maine, they found leased land through the Columbia Land Conservancy and started Full Circus. Mark has been part of education teams at the New York Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and NYC Parks Dept. before beginning his career in farming. Full Circus Farm is a certified organic, horse-powered farm in Pine Plains. In addition to growing vegetables, they have a nursery--growing apple, pear, Asian pear, fig trees, and annual and perennial plants for home gardeners.
