Intermediate Knitting Class
Intermediate Knitting Class
Saturday November 9th 10:30-12:30pm & Saturday, November 16th 10:30-12:30pm
Ever wonder what w&t means when written in a knitting pattern? Or how to do a cable cast on? Adrienne Waltking, an experienced knitter and host of our weekly knitting circle, can teach you! Come join her around the big, wooden table at The Ozone to find out. In this two-part class you will learn how to do short rows, a technique commonly asked for in sweater patterns. Also, she will teach you the cable cast on, which is not just a fancy way to get those loops on to a needle, but a great way to add stitches to the end of a row when needed. These two skills will be practiced all while knitting a feather inspired neck shawl. This class is intended for knitters who are at least proficient in doing the knit stitch to create garter stitch.
Price: $60
Class size is limited to 6 people so please register early.
As a bonus, you will have the unique opportunity to purchase a gorgeous skein of locally raised Alpaca, mixed with a little bit of Merino, and dyed specifically for this pattern and class by Tivoli Farm. Only one skein of variegated DK is needed.
Yarn is sold separately for $35 a skein and will be made available the day of class. If you already have a skein of variegated DK or Sock yarn with approximate 10 in. long color sections, you are more than welcome to bring and use it. Please put a note on the registration page whether you will be purchasing or bringing your own yarn. Also, you will need to bring a pair of Size 3 straight needles to use in class for this project.
