Join us for our first season of Sauna on the Koi Pond. Open Friday-Sunday for 10am, 12:30pm & 3pm sessions. Sign-up for a seasonal sauna membership & get a discounted rate! Pre-purchase a bundle of 12 sessions for $275 or 20 sessions for $425! Get an unlimited seasonal membership for $500. Get early access to the upcoming week’s registration starting Sunday evening at 5pm. A discount code will be given to members upon purchase. This code will be used when registering for each week’s sessions. All members should be 18 years and older. Sessions are 90-105 minutes in length & all attendees must be mindful when it comes to creating a relaxing, quiet environment within the sauna itself. No attendee is permitted with active illness or infection. Please refrain from bringing or wearing any scented lotions or perfumes out of consideration to other participants. Maximum of one session per day, and two days in a row. A cold plunge will be available on site. All attendees are asked to show up freshly rinsed, with a bathing suit or light-weight clothing, a towel & water bottle. Extra water will be available for extra hydration!
Hot Wood-Fired Sauna Safety Rules & Guidelines
1. General Sauna Use Guidelines
Maximum Temperature: The sauna should not exceed 190°F (88°C). Always check the temperature before entering.
Time Limits: Limit your sauna sessions to 15-20 minutes at a time to prevent overheating and dehydration. Take breaks if needed.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your sauna session to avoid dehydration. Avoid alcohol and caffeine before or during sauna use as they can contribute to dehydration. Alcohol consumption is not allowed before or during sauna use.
2. Health Considerations
Consult Your Doctor: If you are pregnant, have heart conditions, respiratory issues, skin conditions, or any other health concerns, consult with a healthcare provider before using the sauna.
Do Not Use While Intoxicated: Never enter the sauna under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substances that may impair your judgment or affect your body’s ability to regulate temperature.
Listen to Your Body: If you start feeling lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, or uncomfortable in any way, immediately leave the sauna and cool down.
3. Entering the Sauna
Shower Before Entering: Always take a warm shower before entering the sauna to cleanse your skin of dirt, oils, and sweat, which can affect the sauna’s environment.
Wear Appropriate Attire: Wear a towel, swimsuit, or light-weight clothing when entering the sauna. Avoid wearing tight or restrictive clothing.
No Shoes: Do not wear shoes inside the sauna. Always enter barefoot to maintain cleanliness and safety.
4. Sauna Operation
Proper Ventilation: Ensure the sauna’s ventilation system is working correctly before use. Do not block air vents or exhaust outlets.
Heating Source Safety: The wood stove or heater should be inspected regularly for proper operation. Never touch the heater or stove directly to avoid burns.
Control the Temperature: Only employee personnel should adjust the temperature to a comfortable level before entering the sauna. No participant should touch or assess the heating device.
5. Sauna Etiquette
Respect Others: Keep noise to a minimum. Excessive talking, laughing, or loud noises can disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the sauna.
Limit Group Size: To ensure comfort and safety for all users, please adhere to the maximum occupancy limit posted for the sauna.
Clean After Use: Wipe down any surfaces you have touched, especially the bench areas, with the provided towels or cleaning materials to maintain cleanliness for the next users.
Refrain from wearing or bringing any scented lotions, oils or perfumes into the sauna.
6. Exit the Sauna Safely
Gradual Cooling: After your sauna session, stand and exit slowly and allow your body to cool down gradually. A quick transition from high heat to a cold environment can cause shock to the body.
Take a Cool Shower: After your sauna, a cool shower or a quick plunge in a cold plunge pool (if available) is recommended to close the pores of the skin.
Rest: Rest for several minutes after leaving the sauna to allow your body temperature to return to normal.
7. Fire Safety
Wood Stove Awareness: The wood stove or fire pit used to heat the sauna can be very hot. Never touch the stove or heater and maintain a safe distance.
Do Not Throw Items in the Fire: Never throw paper, wood, or any other materials into the stove. Tending the fire is only to be conducted by the the sauna’s operators.
Fire Extinguisher: Make sure a fire extinguisher is easily accessible near the sauna in case of an emergency.
8. Special Considerations
Children: Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to use the sauna.
Pregnancy: Pregnant women should consult their doctor before using the sauna. The high temperatures may not be suitable during pregnancy.
Pre-existing Medical Conditions: Individuals with high blood pressure, heart conditions, respiratory issues, or diabetes should avoid sauna use unless cleared by a doctor.
9. Emergency Procedures
In Case of Emergency: If you feel faint, dizzy, or experience any symptoms of heatstroke or dehydration, exit the sauna immediately and seek medical assistance if necessary.
Call for Help: If someone else appears to be in distress or unconscious, call emergency services immediately. Do not attempt to move them unless necessary.
